Pandan is the defining aroma of Thai kitchens, used to perfume rice, custards and sweets. The long green leaves are cut and dried, then brewed as a simple, comforting infusion.

Taste & aroma

Sweet, grassy and nutty, with a warm vanilla-like fragrance that fills the room as it steeps. The cup itself is pale green-gold and naturally mellow.

How to serve

Steep 5–8 minutes and drink hot, or serve it iced with a little honey — the vanilla character works particularly well cold. Pandan also pairs naturally with lemongrass and with coconut milk.

Naturally caffeine-free, so it can be enjoyed at any hour. Store in a sealed container, away from heat and direct sunlight.

Ingredients

Dried pandan leaves. Nothing else — no additives, flavourings, sweeteners or preservatives.

Allergens: this is a single-botanical product and none of the 14 allergens that must be declared under UK and EU food law are used as ingredients. If you have a severe allergy, or are sensitive to sulphites, please email service@teasofthailand.com before ordering and we will confirm the details for your batch.

How to brew

  1. Measure — use about 2–3g of tea (1–2 teaspoons) per cup.
  2. Heat — bring fresh water to 90–100°C (just off the boil).
  3. Steep — cover and let it infuse for 5–8 minutes. Herbal and flower teas are forgiving: longer steeping deepens the flavour without bitterness.
  4. Enjoy — drink it plain, or add honey, lemon or ice. Most of our teas also make an excellent cold brew: steep overnight in the fridge.

Store your tea in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to keep it fresh.
