In the cup
Deep red-amber, closer to a rooibos than to anything green. Woody and earthy from the Jewel Vine, with a fresh herbaceous lift over the top and a faint natural sweetness underneath. There is no added sugar, so the whole character comes from the botanicals themselves.
Next to the single-herb Thai teas it is considerably rounder and darker. Where pandan is sweet and grassy and roselle is sharply tart, the blend lands somewhere broad and savoury-sweet — the reason it suits people who find single botanicals too one-note.
The blend, or the botanicals on their own?
This is the only shop of ours that sells both. If you already know you like a particular Thai botanical, you can buy it by itself — pandan leaf, lemongrass & pandan, roselle, bael fruit, rose buds and peppermint are all stocked loose. If you would rather not assemble anything, this blend is the whole thing in one bag.
Plenty of people end up with both: the blend for everyday, a single botanical for when they want that one flavour clearly.

The fifteen botanicals
Every botanical in the blend, with what each one contributes to the cup. The recipe is fixed — the same fifteen, in the same proportions, in every pack.

How to brew it
One tea bag in about 250 ml of water just off the boil (85–90 °C), steeped 5–7 minutes. It is ground rather than whole leaf, so it opens up quickly and is difficult to under-brew.
It takes a second steep well. Leave the bag in and top the cup up; the second cup is lighter and a little sweeter. For iced, brew two bags in 250 ml, let it cool, then pour over a full glass of ice so the melt does not thin it out. A little honey suits it if you prefer a sweeter cup.
Which pack size
The 5-bag pack exists to find out whether you like it, and nothing more. If you already know you do, the 25 is the usual first real purchase — roughly a month at a cup a day.
Beyond that the 150 and 250 packs are where the price per cup genuinely drops. Every pack from the 75 upwards ships free (conditions apply by destination), so a larger pack does not cost you more in postage; the 25-teabag pack carries a US$19.90 tracked shipping charge and the 50-teabag pack US$14.90, each charged per pack.
Storage
Keep the pack sealed, dry and out of direct sunlight. Ground botanicals lose their aroma faster than whole leaf, so reseal it properly after opening and it will keep its character for months.
